Charges Hit Broadcom Co-Founder At Broadband Speed
Well now… This explains why my Broadcom modem used to act up and get all spacy at times. And people told me it was my IRQ settings. I should have known there was a deeper reason for its spastic behavior.
Broadcom Corp. co-founder Henry T. Nicholas III was indicted on federal narcotics charges that include allegations he slipped ecstasy into the drinks of business associates, maintained a drug warehouse and concealed his illegal conduct with bribes and death threats.
In a pair of indictments unsealed Thursday, the billionaire also is accused of committing conspiracy, securities fraud and other violations while he led the Irvine-based computer chip company.
What do you mean my modem issue is not related to this story? Of course it isn’t. Were you not paying attention? Wait. Did someone put something in my drink? Should I look into getting a life insurance quote?

Yahoo Has Been Busy Announcing New Deals
What is up with Yahoo? Are they trying to make us all think they can do real well by themselves? First they announce a deal with CBS, and then another one with Wal-Mart. What’s up with that?
CBS Corp said on Wednesday it reached a deal to allow its Web videos to be carried by Yahoo Inc, part of a broader plan by the media company to add new outlets for its television shows.
Two different deals completely unrelated to each other, covering two different aspects of Yahoo’s business. I am very impressed that they have mustered the courage to step forward.
Yahoo will sell display advertising for Walmart.com and will become the exclusive portal to resell Walmart.com’s display inventory, Yahoo said on Wednesday.
Microsoft is so going to love having a hand in Wal-Mart and CBS.

Soon: Best Buy Will Accept Your Junk
After years of selling us junk, Best Buy is now going to take some of it back.
Under pressure to help dispose some of the electronic waste it helped create, Best Buy Co. is testing a free program that will offer consumers a convenient way to ensure millions of obsolescent TVs, old computers and other unwanted gadgets don’t poison the nation’s dumps.
The trial, expected to be announced Monday, covers 117 Best Buy stores scattered across eight states that will collect a wide variety of electronic detritus at no charge, even if the Richfield, Minn.-based retailer didn’t originally sell the merchandise.
The pilot stores are in Best Buy’s Northern California, Minneapolis and Baltimore markets, as well as parts of North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
Now if they would just lower the music that plays in the store so you don’t go deaf just walking in the door.
Seriously though, I think this program is awesome and I hope they expand it to all their locations soon.
